When cleaning rattan, simply wipe it with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid using furniture polish or sprays, as over time the chemicals can damage the finish. For woven wicker furniture, vacuum or dust with a feather duster, and wipe with a clean, damp cloth.

Outdoor poly furniture frames are designed to withstand exposure to the elements like rain and sun. All-natural teakwood, acacia, and balau wood furniture will not rot outdoors, but the finish will fade and discolor over time when fully exposed. Ideal locations for placing your outdoor furniture include covered lanais, patios, porches, and sunrooms. The fabric used for outdoor cushions is made from polyester and acrylic. Sunbrella is a well-known U.S. manufacturer of outdoor fabrics, and their fabrics are commonly used on outdoor furniture.
