The Reasons Tariffs Wont Affect Prices on Natural Rattan and Wicker Furniture

Countries that Manufacture Natural Rattan and Wicker Furniture Sources – the primary 3 countries Rattan and Wicker furniture come from are Indonesia #1, Malaysia #2, and Philippines #3. Indonesia at number 1, is by far the largest supplier of natural Rattan and Wicker furniture. All of these countries are on the tariff waived negotiations list and have been removed from Tariffs while the trading and tariff agreements are worked out. These countries won’t benefit in any way by fighting the American administration on tariffs or coming to an agreement to remove them. And unlike China they have no political skin in the game or face saving to show their tougher or have more will than the Americans.

Many times for higher end furniture, the Rattan frames are built overseas and the cushions are produced here in the United States. For less expensive lines of indoor Rattan and Wicker furniture both frames and cushions are produced overseas. Here are examples of both the expensive lines and the less expensive furniture lines.

As you can see the country thats going to get hurt by Tariffs in our Rattan and Wicker furniture industry is China. Hopefully they will decide to save their economy instead of the just their face. Of course, being a communist government is always more important to them to look strong and not lose face, more so than it is to take care of their people and economy.
